I had an opportunity to learn the "ins and outs" of the Ubercart module for Drupal.  Ubercart provides an eCommerece platform that can be customized and integrated with a Drupal based website.  The functionality requirements were: sell clothing, sell events, manage event registration, security, payment and reporting.

The solution utilized the current verion of Ubercart, Ubercart Signup, Ubercart Free Order Payment Method, modr8 and Date, Calendar, and Views.  The challenge to handle both events and products required the creation of multiple Content Types to handle the special needs of the different products in the catalog.  Integration with calendar functionality alllows an easy and natural way to display the envent products.  Signup to these evnets is tightly integrated with Orders, Payment, registartion and Attendance functionality.

The "proof of concept" website is nearing completion and will be demonstarted for Customer representatives in the next few weeks.  Once the approval is given to proceed, the site will be migrated from the delelopment account to a new account purchased by the customer.

I had looked at whether the requirement could be met with Drupal7 and the Commerce module.  After testing this combination of Drupal core and modules, I came to the conclusion that  the current (alpha versions) are not ready for "prime time".
